The boys and I were pretty busy today. We went and got gas, shopped at Walmart, dropped our groceries off at home, had lunch at the park, and then walked around the PX for a bit.

The boys and I didn't really do too much today ... mostly just hung out at the house.

Today the boys and I went on post to walk around the track. We ended up having to go get the decals for the van as well and grabbed some lunch before heading back over to walk some more. On both sides of the track is something called the Warrior Walk. There is a tree planted for every fallen soldier from Fort Stewart and family and friends leave little things for them at their tree. It's a great reminder of how much has been sacrificed.

We've had cake mix sitting in the pantry for some time now and Caleb has brought it out so many times asking for "chocolate" so the other day when we went to the store we grabbed some chocolate frosting for it. He was so excited that he got to help make and frost it!

Today was Gavin's birthday party so we went over to hang out and celebrate. Caleb had so much fun running around with all the older boys playing "Zombies" and being a goof. Here he is showing me how he salutes like his daddy. So cute.

Today was a clean up day. Jensen's carseat was inside since we had to put it in Brandy's truck yesterday and he was having tons of fun crawling in and out of it.

Caleb was such a bossy britches today when it came to his brother. He's usually the one getting on to Jensen, but today he went above and beyond. Jensen was being cranky and not listening. After a couple "No baby!" shouts he comes out with, "That's it! Go night night baby!" Guess he is taking his role as "man of the house" pretty seriously.

Today was pretty miserable for the boys and I. We'v all got runny noses and nasty attitudes. This picture sums up our day ...

Day # 3

January 4, 2012

Today was a lot better. No crying or fits ... and the boys were pretty good too ;) We stayed home all day and got some cleaning and a ton of laundry done. I actually really enjoyed getting the house put together. There were times when Aaron was home that it felt like I was rushing all day long to get things accomplished, but the house never looked clean even after a whole day of picking up and scrubbing. 

Even though the boys brought their toys back out to the living room I feel like I got quit a bit done and can relax some.

Day # 2

January 3, 2012

Today was our first whole day with Aaron gone and it was still a little hard. Caleb asks about Daddy all the time. I think having Aaron home and to ourselves for the last 2 weeks really spoiled us :) We actually got to talk to him on Skype so that was really nice (He stayed up forever to talk to us, poor guy). 

The boys took their bath tonight and used the tub tablets Memaw gave them to colour the water blue. Caleb loves using them ... Jensen doesn't really care too much. He just likes being in the water and playing with his duckies. 

Day # 1

January 2, 2012

Today, Aaron's company left for the Middle East. It was really hard to watch him go and it was made even harder because Caleb didn't really understand why he had to get on the bus to leave. He cried for Daddy the whole time they waited to load up and it was just too sad. There was some humor in Aaron leaving though. Caleb got to see him with his weapons (Caleb loves guns) and wanted to get to hold them. Aaron told him that he had to take them with him when he left and Caleb burst into tears because he wanted to keep them! What a nut.
